"The Best Room in the House"
Rebecca,
I just wanted to thank you for helping us make our
living room so special. It's now the best room in the
house and we are truly enjoying it.
We look forward to working with you again (maybe for
next Christmas).
Sincerely,

"Thrilled with the Results"
Chalsi helped us decorate our first home and we were
thrilled with the results. When we decided to build
our new home we knew we had too many important decisions
to make on our own. Chalsi helped us select everything
from the ground up (flooring, granite, and paint color,
tile, taps and much more) while staying within our builder's
budget.
She also helped select additional furnishings and window
coverings to add that finishing touch. We've lived here
now for a couple of years and continue to love coming
home!

"Saved Us the Cost of Making Mistakes"
My husband, children and I moved into a new home in
a cozy subdivision in Cloverdale one and a half years
ago. As with most people now a days, we live very busy
lives. I work 40 hours per week and my husband works
60+! Combine that with a blended family (and everthing
that entails -- school, extra curricular activities,
catechism, etc.) and there is virtually no time to shop
for, at first, larger items such as furniture (couches,
chairs, coffee tables) and then later on, accent pieces
such as pictures, pillows, floral arrangements, etc.
At first, we tried going around to all the furniture
stores in the area (which would takes us at least two
whole weekends for an item such as a couch) and look
at styles of furniture and fabrics. That was very frustrating.
Then... we decided that our time is indeed worth money
and we found... Rebecca! Rebecca came into our home
and within twenty minutes or so, quickly assessed our
personal decorating style. She came back again with
samples of beautiful fabrics for upholsteries and draperies
that she felt suited our tastes and lifestyle. We didn't
really know what our "personal decorating style"
was until then. We hadn't had time to think about it.
After meeting with Rebecca, she described to us what
she thought we would be comfortable with and then she
took it another step further to things a little more
interesting and exciting... And that is what I found
most beneficial about enlisting Rebecca as our decorator.
She expanded our horizons ever so subtly and without
pressure. She made it fun to consider ideas that were
outside our somewhat narrow frames of minds. She had
a lot input insofar as to what types of things would
soon become out dated and what things would give us
more "mileage for our dollar".
To put it simply, we, as most people these days, do
not have the time to shop around for that "perfect
something(s)" to be the focal point of or to finish
off a room. Rebecca saved us that time, saved us the
cost of making mistakes and helped us pick long lasting
quality pieces and fabrics. And -- she made it all very
fun when we (actually me -- not my husband!) were "stressing"
about "getting the house done"!
Thank you, Rebecca!
Sincerely,

"Knows Our Needs, Our Tastes and Our Budget"
When it comes to home improvement projects, big or
small, we love to do them ourselves. We enjoy the projects
and we love to save money on things we can do ourselves.
We began working with Chalsi of Golden Interiors about
six years ago and since then, have redecorated two homes
and renovated a kitchen and bathroom / laundry room.
In each of these projects, we did a portion of the work
ourselves; however, Chalsis advise, design ideas,
color choices and recommendation of tradespeople where
needed made a real difference to the finished look and
to our cost savings.
Six years ago, we decided to consult a professional
for the first time. We were struggling with a small
and busy looking livingroom. In addition to needing
a paint job, we didnt like the way the fireplace
looked and we were considering reconstructing it. The
first thing Chalsi did when she entered the room was
focus on the colors of the rock on the fireplace. Wall,
ceiling and trim colors were suggested along with other
constructive advice (furniture layout, painting out
additional wood trim colors and a heavy wood banister,
changing curtains to sheers etc.) and the results were
incredible. All of a sudden, the fireplace that looked
so out of place now seemed to fit perfectly. The room
looked larger and the view out the window was suddenly
brought into the room. The overall look was so good
and Chalsi had saved us hundreds of dollars in fireplace
reconstruction costs.
Three years ago we moved to the Dollarton area into
a heritage home built in the early 1900s. While
parts of the house had been rebuilt & renovated
in the mid '80's nothing had been done since. We realized
that every room in the house was going to need work
and initially it seemed an overwhelming task. One of
our first visitors to the house was Chalsi. She helped
us again by giving some great advice: go slow, do one
room at a time,
and deal with all the elements that need attention (structural,
furnishings, window treatment, color) in the room so
that when you are finished with that room you actually
are.
We have recently just completed by far our most ambitious
project -- the kitchen. Chalsis design, planning,
and choice of trades people were superb and the
result is a welcoming room that is as beautiful as it
is practical. We will enjoy this room -- as well as
the others that Chalsi has worked with us on -- for
many years to come.
Being a family of four, our needs have changed over
the years and are continuing to do so. Where we began
our work with Chalsi by decorating and planning rooms
and a home for teenagers, we are now planning a home
based business -- a bed and breakfast. We are satisfied
that Chalsi knows our needs, our tastes and our budget
and we look forward to working with her for many years
to come.
Cheers,
Eric & Julie Startup
